From reseller to owner
DataGuys started the way a lot of hosting companies do: reselling the big-box platforms. It worked — right up until it didn't. Every outage, every unexplained slowdown, and every support ticket that vanished into a queue was something we had to apologize for but couldn't actually fix. We were selling a promise someone else was responsible for keeping.
So we changed the model. Today DataGuys runs its own enterprise servers in a Chicago datacenter, with Cloudflare's global edge network in front of every site we host. We manage the hardware, the control panels, the backups, the monitoring — and the phones. When you host with us, the people responsible for your uptime are the same people who answer when you call.
Owning the stack isn't a vanity project. It's what lets us commit to 99.9% uptime, migrate your site in for free, include SSL on everything, and give you a straight answer about exactly where your site lives and how it's protected.
