Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information DataGuys.co LLC (“DataGuys”, dataguys.co) collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what we need to run your services and bill you, we don’t sell your personal data, and card numbers never touch our servers.
1. What we collect
- Account information — name, email address, phone number, and business name when you create an account, place an order, or contact us.
- Order and billing information — the products you buy, order totals, billing history, and payment references from our payment processors.
- Technical logs — IP addresses, request logs, and error logs generated by our servers and network (including our CDN). These are standard for operating and securing hosting infrastructure.
- Cookies — we use cookies and similar storage for your shopping cart and session. We do not use cookies for third-party advertising.
- Referral information — if you reach us through a customer’s referral link, the referral code and the fact that they referred you (so they can be credited). If you join our referral program, the payout details you give us (a PayPal email address or Cash App $Cashtag) and the commissions you earn.
2. How we use it
- to provision and operate the services you purchase;
- to bill you, send renewal notices, and process refunds;
- to answer support requests and notify you about your services;
- to secure our platform — detecting abuse, fraud, spam, and attacks against our network or our customers.
3. Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe and PayPal. Your card number goes directly to the payment processor over an encrypted connection and never touches our servers. We retain only the transaction references and status the processor returns so we can match payments to orders and process refunds.
4. What we share (and what we don’t)
We do not sell personal data. Period. We share information only with the service providers required to deliver what you bought: payment processors (Stripe, PayPal), our domain registrar partner (for domain registrations, whose handling of registrant data is governed by ICANN policy), and DNS/CDN providers that sit in front of our infrastructure. Each receives only what it needs to perform its function. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of DataGuys, our customers, or others.
Referrals. If a customer referred you, they see only the commission they earned, the month it was earned and its status — never your name, email address or what you bought. We email them when a payment of yours earns them a commission, so they may be able to tell when you bought, and from the commission amount roughly how much you spent. See our Referral Program Terms.
5. Service providers & subprocessors
To deliver the services you buy, we rely on a small set of trusted vendors that process personal data on our behalf. Each receives only the information it needs to perform its specific function, and nothing more:
- Stripe — card payment processing. Receives the billing details needed to authorize and settle card charges.
- PayPal — payment processing for customers who pay through PayPal.
- Our registrar reseller partner — domain registrations and transfers. Receives the registrant contact details required to register a domain, which are then handled under ICANN policy.
- Cloudflare — DNS, content delivery (CDN), and DDoS protection in front of our network. Processes request metadata such as IP addresses to route and protect traffic.
- Zoho — email hosting and mail routing (MX) for professional email accounts. Processes the mail that flows through the mailboxes we host for you.
We do not authorize any of these providers to use your personal information for their own marketing.
6. Retention
We keep account and billing records while your account is active and as long as needed afterward for tax, accounting, and legal purposes. Technical logs are kept for a short operational window and then rotated. When you cancel a service, the associated hosted data is deleted after the notice period described in our Terms of Service.
7. Security
We operate our own servers in an enterprise datacenter, front them with a global CDN and DDoS protection, encrypt traffic with TLS, restrict internal access to customer data to staff who need it, and keep offsite backups. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your data the way we’d want ours treated.
8. Cookies
Our cookies are functional: they keep your cart contents and session working as you move around the site. Blocking them may break checkout, but you are free to do so in your browser settings. The one exception is a first-party referral cookie (dg_ref), set only when you follow a customer’s referral link, so that customer can be credited if you buy. For the full list of what we set and why, see our Cookie Policy.
9. Your rights
You can access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Most of it is visible and editable in your account portals; for anything else — including a full deletion request — email contact@dataguys.co and we will respond within a reasonable time. Note that we may need to retain certain billing records to meet legal obligations even after a deletion request. The sections below describe additional rights that apply if you live in California, the EEA, or the UK.
10. Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you the following rights over the personal information we hold about you:
- the right to know and access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected;
- the right to delete personal information we hold, subject to legal exceptions;
- the right to correct inaccurate personal information;
- the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
DataGuys does not sell your personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of — but the right exists and we will honor it if that ever changes. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. To submit a request, email contact@dataguys.co; we may need to verify your identity before we act, and you may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
11. European & UK data rights (GDPR/UK GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the GDPR and UK GDPR apply to our processing of your personal data. We process that data under one or more of these legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — to provide and bill the services you order;
- Legitimate interests — to secure our network, prevent fraud and abuse, and operate our business, balanced against your rights;
- Consent — where we ask for it, such as optional communications, which you can withdraw at any time;
- Legal obligation — to meet tax, accounting, and other legal requirements.
Subject to those bases, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email contact@dataguys.co.
International transfers. DataGuys operates from the United States, and your personal data is processed and stored in the U.S. Where we transfer data out of the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and their UK equivalent — to protect it.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office; in the EEA, your national authority). We’d appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first, so please email contact@dataguys.co before you do.
12. Children
Our services are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify active customers by email before the change takes effect.
14. Contact
